Officials and educators of the higher education field work hard to employ research-oriented teaching and study methods.

After fixing the types, goal and demand of talents to be trained in each university, faculty and department in the scientific way last year, relevant officials and researchers of the Ministry of Education and the Academy of Pedagogical Science offer technical guidance intensively to make progress in the training of talents in each types and field this year.

In particular, they attach importance to improving the teaching methods and forms to enable all students to become active learners and searchers and acquire practical knowledge and abilities and press on with it.

Accordingly, lecturers and researchers of the institutes of higher learning at all levels put in efforts to explore ways in all aspects to introduce research-oriented teaching and study methods of a higher level and employ them this year.

Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the University of Sciences and other major universities try to change the general study atmosphere and teaching methods and set an example in the field of higher education by positively encouraging and developing the experience of research-oriented teaching and study methods created in the course of their work to build a top-class university.

The high-level research-oriented teaching and study methods these universities introduced within the range of training outstanding talents last year are gradually being applied to all universities and colleges. They actively involve many students in research projects from the low academic year and encourage their activities.

The introduction of research-oriented teaching and study methods is forged ahead in close connection with the work to carry out the important tasks facing the education field in the present time, including those of training more world-famous scholars and outstanding academic and practical talents who will contribute to the development of the national economy and the country’s science and technology, bridging the gap in the educational level between the central and local areas and between cities and rural villages and increasing the number of polyglots.

Meanwhile, positive measures have been taken to promote experiment and practice and practical training education in the field of higher education as a whole.
