The national children's Taekwon-Do championships took place at the Taekwon-Do Hall and the Taekwon-Do Holy House in Pyongyang from August 14 to 29. 

The championships brought together more than 700 players and coaches, selected from the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Team, provincial Taekwon-Do teams, paduk teams of provincial paduk centres, Korea University of Physical Education and Central Sports School. Players competed in Taekwon-Do, paduk and Korean chess.

At the championships Pyongyang Municipality ranked first in total standings in Taekwon-Do, with Kangwon and North Hwanghae provinces coming second and third respectively.

Medals and certificates were awarded to the successful teams and players.
