The 60th National Sports School Contest closed on August 19 with due ceremony in Sukchon County of South Phyongan Province.

The contest was held in Pyongyang, Phyongsong City of South Phyongan Province, Hamhung City of South Hamgyong Province, Kangso District of Nampho City and other areas of the country from July 17. Students selected from all provinces, cities and counties competed in more than 10 events, including football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, handball and weightlifting.

Present at the closing ceremony were officials concerned and players and schoolchildren in Sukchon County. 

Cups and medals were awarded to the successful teams and players.

O Kwang Hyok, vice-minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made a closing address.
