Resident Russian diplomats pay floral tribute to fallen Soviet soldiers

Staff members of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang laid a wreath before the Liberation Tower on August 15 on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

A wreath bearing the name of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was seen standing before the tower.

A guard of honour of the Korean People's Army lined up at the tower.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Vladimir Topeha, charge d'affaires ad interim, and staff members of the Russian embassy.

A wreath in the name of the Russian embassy was placed at the Liberation Tower amid the playing of the wreath-laying music.

The participants paid silent tribute to the memory of the fallen officers and men of the Soviet Army and looked round the tower.

On the same day, they also laid a wreath and flowers at the cemetery of martyrs of the Soviet Army in Sadong District, Pyongyang.

Earlier, they visited the liberation towers, memorial towers and cemeteries of martyrs of the Soviet Army in Haeju, Wonsan and Hamhung.
