The city of Nampho has newly built a floodgate for supplying irrigation water to the Ansok tideland area.

The completion of the Sobongryongchon floodgate has provided a material and technical foundation for increasing grain production by supplying enough irrigation water to hundreds of hectares of tideland-turned rice-fields.

Attending its inaugural ceremony on August 11 were Jo Yong Su, secretary of the Nampho City Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and officials and working people in the city and Onchon County.

Ho Yong Man, chairman of the Nampho City Rural Economy Committee, made an inaugural address.
