Natural monument—Oldest apple tree

The oldest apple tree grows in Ryongjon-ri in Pukchong County of South Hamgyong Province, which is noted for apple farming.

The luxuriant tree is much more than 100 years old.

It is 1.2 metres round at the root neck and 6 metres wide at the crown. Its long leaves are dark green and it produces flowers in May.

It is the oldest apple tree in the DPRK.
