President Putin expresses stand to counter US’ moves to escalated tension

August 1, 2024

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his speech at the maritime parade held in St Petersburg on July 28, expressed the stance to cope with the US’ moves to the escalation of tension.

If the US plan to deploy long-range missiles in Germany is put into action, Russia will no longer observe the ban on the deployment of medium- and shorter-range striking means, but increase the capacity of coastal units of the Navy within the range, he noted.

Asserting that the preparations for these systems have already reached the final stage, he warned that Russia would take reflective measures to deploy them in consideration of actions of the US and its satellite countries.

Referring to the fact that the US continues to escalate tension over the flights of Russian strategic planes, he stressed that these flights were a countermeasure against the continuous and active strategic and reconnaissance flights of the US in several regions of the world that are very sensitive for Russia.
