Russian presidential aide censures NATO
July 30, 2024Russian Presidential Aide Nikolai Patrushev had an interview with Rossiskaya Gazeta on July 25 to decry NATO’s moves.
NATO member states are provoking destructive military disputes in different parts of the world and openly revealing their aggressive nature, though they claim theirs is a “defensive” organization, he asserted.
Openly regarding the Asia-Pacific region as a lever to serve its interests, NATO has fixed Japan, which has long been under the control of the US in this region, as the major springboard, he disclosed.
He also revealed that the number of joint military exercises staged by Japan with NATO and other allies of the US this year has remarkably increased over the same period of last year.
He accused NATO of introducing a lot of weapons threatening regional countries into the Black Sea under the pretext of its security and recklessly expanding its naval bases beyond its boundary line to restrict the interests of sovereign states and put the world ocean under its control and use it as the leverage to exert influence.
