The Iranian foreign minister elucidated the foreign policy stand of the new government in a meeting of the UN Security Council on the Mideast situation on July 16.

The new government of Iran aims to establish relations afresh with other countries and expand friendly ties based on dialogue and cooperation, equality and mutual respect, he noted.

Decrying unilateral sanctions as an extremely anti-humanitarian act of unilateralism, he asserted that the US and the West should take responsibility for the suffering of Iran and other countries caused by sanctions.
