Special military operations are inevitable, says Dmitri Medvedev

July 21, 2024

Dmitri Medvedev, vice-chairman of the Security Council of Russia, told Russian newspaper Arguments and Facts that its special military operations are inevitable.

He referred to the fact that Russia had long put up with NATO’s deployment of military infrastructures near its border, persecution of Russian compatriots in Baltic States, enforcement of sanctions against his country, Ukraine’s reckless hate policy against Russia and others though it had already witnessed them and tried to find a possible compromise solution to the disputed issues.

However, Russia’s efforts failed to bear fruit and it was compelled to take direct military countermeasures within the scope of special military operations, he said, adding that it must not pin its hopes on the enemies’ “reason, will and love for peace”.
