Valentina Matvienko, chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, in a Russian 1TV broadcast on July 14, dubbed NATO member states as slaves of the US.

All the NATO member states are the US’ slaves toeing Washington’s line and therefore they have no view of their own, she asserted.

She described NATO as a purely military bloc the US and the Western group use to maintain their hegemony by way of scaring other countries and engineering the colour revolution and system overthrow.

As regards the fact that Germany announced it would deploy long-range missiles of the US on its soil, she noted that it has no right to deploy such missiles in its territory, as still specified in the documents signed after the Second World War.

If the US’ long-range missiles are deployed in Germany, Russia’s tough counteraction will follow, she warned.
