The custom of the Korean costume dressing consists of making methods and attire of Korean costume which has evolved through a long historical period in reflection of the natural and climate conditions of Korea, way of life, national emotion and taste of Korean nation.

Korean ancestors inherited and developed national clothes by creating the technology of making clothes whose upper and lower parts are separated, straight and curved lines are harmoniously combined, and collar strip and breast-tie are distinct.

They used as their materials such natural fibres as cotton, ramie and silk.
