New buses bound for the Hwasong area in Pyongyang is now on every citizen’s lips.

Buses for Hwasong

The buses with the signs of Hwasong-Pyongyang Railway Station and Hwasong-Ragwon Station of the Pyongyang Metro are adding to the nice scenery of Pyongyang streets.

According to Ryu Sam Ryong, head of the Hwasong bus company under the Pyongyang Municipal General Passenger Traffic Service Enterprise, the company was organized with new buses for the convenience of those who moved into Hwasong and Rimhung streets. 

Kim Hyon Chol, dispatcher in charge of commanding service, said that there are some passengers who changed their route for attending and leaving their workplaces purposely from the metro and trolley buses to the new buses.

Delight on bus route

Choe Yong Ho, driver of Pyongyang 40-1552, said he is very happy with driving the new bus on the new street, adding that when he provided the bus service for the first time, his felt as if he entered the runway of an airfield.  

“May Day this year was very impressive. Our bus ran and ran incessantly since the owners of new houses, who greeted the holiday of working people of the whole world on Rimhung Street which was built during the construction of 10 000 flats at the second stage of the Hwasong area, were visited by their relatives, friends and workshop members. But I didn’t find it hard. I shared joy with them as I also moved into a new house on Hwasong Street last year,” said conductress Ko Un Byol.

Pak Chol, driver of Pyongyang 40-1627, said that he was very pleased when passengers sent him warm greetings. “I became more conscious of my duty as a servant of the people as I saw the expression of their warm eyes.”  

Conductress Kim Hyang Mi said that whenever she passes Hwasong and Rimhung streets that are brightly lit at night, she thinks how beautiful the Hwasong area will be after another 10 000 flats are built at the third stage.

‘Let’s go together!’

As it is a new street built thanks to the people-first politics of the Workers’ Party of Korea, all drivers and conductresses of the Hwasong bus company are doing their best to provide people with every convenience. 

The stories about their beautiful deeds are heard every day and people extend gratitude to them and their company over mobile phones.

Jo Sun Ae, in neighbourhood unit No. 34 in Jonwi-dong No. 1, Hyongjesan District, Pyongyang, said: 

“I’m a newcomer at newly-built Jonwi Street. I was impressed by the deed of a driver and conductress of bus Pyongyang 40-1552 who on a journey embarked again for passenger who missed the last bus. That’s why I send this message. They only said ‘Let’s go together!’”

Ri Song Gon, in neighbourhood No. 2 of Ryonggung-dong No. 2 in Ryongsong District, Pyongyang, said:

“Two days ago, I saw an emergency case who suddenly broke down on the way. When I was impatient, the bus Pyongyang 40-1539 of the Hwasong bus company drove the patient to the hospital. So his life could be saved.” 

Kim Ju Song, at the cooking IT company under the Central Committee of  the Cooks Association of Korea, said:

“Yesterday, I left my purse in a bus. I came to know this only in the evening, but I could not remember the bus number. Unexpectedly, however, the driver and conductress of bus Pyongyang 40-1628 visited my house after looking at my citizenship card in my purse and returned it to me. I’m very grateful.”
