Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the US is a major threat to Europe at a meeting with Foreign Ministry officials on June 14.

The assertion of some European countries that Russia is going to attack Europe is a complete lie, he said, adding that the major threat to Europe is not Russia, but its extreme dependence on the US. 

Asserting that the US has never given up the attempt to maintain its position as an empire, he said that the US uses the European politicians to serve its interests and exploits European countries. 

He derided that the European politicians endure insults, vulgar behaviour and even scandals related to surveillance of them.
