Complex keeps cement production up

May 30, 2024

The Sunchon Cement Complex is putting spurs to cement production.

“Last year, our complex produced tens of thousands of tons of more cement than the previous year. By setting ourselves a higher goal, we are working harder to increase cement production this year,” said chief engineer Choe Chol Jin.

Construction projects are going on in every part of the DPRK on a large scale, including the construction of houses for 50 000 families in Pyongyang, modern dwelling houses in rural areas in the new era of rural development and regional-industry factories in the efforts to implement the Regional Development 20x10 Policy. This requires a record-breaking production growth in the cement production sector.

Cement production is a sector capable of achieving sustainable growth in the country as it has abundant raw materials for cement and the solid foundation of the independent economy.

The Sunchon Cement Complex is one of the leading cement producers of the country.

It is not that easy to achieve sustainable production growth, but employees of the complex continue to make breakthroughs for innovation with unusual enthusiasm and by joint efforts.

The complex correctly finds the vital links for the revitalization of production and takes rational measures to upgrade the performance of equipment and ensure its regular operation, while organizing and commanding production in a scrupulous manner.

It ensured that the regular repair of facilities in major production processes like kiln became an important occasion for increasing capacity and took a measure to supply raw and other materials under a well thought-out plan so as to strengthen the connection between processes.

The Sunchon Limestone Mine in charge of material supply introduced an advanced blasting method to secure an enough amount of ore reserves and the Jiktong Gypsum Mine increased production 1.7 times as compared with the same period of last year.

The Sunchon Cement Complex is registering good production results this May in the wake of the first quarter of the year and April.
