Ongjin Chionanthus retusa grows on a roadside in the seat village of Mansok-ri, Ongjin County.

The tree, which was planted in around 1880, is 6.5 metres tall, 2.4 metres round at the root neck and 46 metres round at the crown.

A deciduous broad-leaved tree, it is really beautiful when it blooms. 

The old tree unique in shape is a natural monument which is of great significance in studying the ecological features of the plant and adds natural beauty to the surrounding landscape.
