The Chinese government decided on May 22 to apply sanctions against the US for infringing its sovereignty. 

The Chinese Foreign Ministry asserted that the US has severely interfered in the internal affairs of China by enforcing unilateral sanctions on its several entities for a certain period for the reason that they are connected with Russia and continuing to sell weapons to Taiwan.

It announced that China will impose sanctions against 12 munitions businesses and 10 high-ranking officials of the US pursuant to the regulations of the law of the People’s Republic of China on sanctions against foreign countries.

Accordingly, it is said that the movables, immovables and all other kinds of property of American munitions businesses in the Chinese territory will be frozen and the US high-ranking officials will be prohibited from entry into China.
