A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China at a press conference on May 10 rejected the US State Secretary’s criticism on China’s trading activities. 

He said that the US State Secretary’s remark that China depends on “unfair advantage” in international trade not only goes against common sense but also shows disregard for even the objective truth.

The US decries China while acting against its words, he said, adding that it is typical of double standards and a hegemony-seeking act. 

China demands the US observe international economic and trade rules and stop tarnishing China’s image and insulting it irresponsibly, he stressed.
