National cooking festival held

The 27th National Cooking Festival took place at the Pyongyang Noodle House from April 2 to 5 on the occasion of the greatest auspicious April holiday of the Korean nation.

The festival brought together cooks, waiters and waitresses, university students and housewives selected from ministries, national agencies, Pyongyang Municipality and every province.

The participants presented distinctive dishes, various beverages and more than 140 pieces of information on scientific and technological achievements.

The national dishes exhibited at the show of compulsory dishes, including Pyongyang cold noodles and frozen potato noodles from the Okryu Restaurant, sinsollo and mung-bean jelly from the Chongnyu Restaurant, and dishes displayed by many other units drew the attention of visitors for their distinct features.

Also eye-catching were the cookery competition and demonstration by cooks and waiters and waitresses and the cooking contest of students of Pyongyang Jang Chol Gu University of Commerce and different other universities and housewives in Pyongyang.

The results of examination were announced and diplomas, medals and certificates were awarded to excellent units and participants at the closing ceremony on April 5.
