An enlarged plenary meeting of the DPRK Cabinet took place on April 3 through video-conferencing.

Premier Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, guided the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Vice-Premiers Pak Jong Gun and Ri Chol Man and other members of the Cabinet.

Present as observers were officials of the organs under the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies, chairpersons of the provincial, city and county people's committees and officials of the agricultural guidance organs and major industrial establishments.

The meeting reviewed the fulfilment of the first quarterly national economic plan for thoroughly implementing the decisions of the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, and discussed the measures for laying a solid foundation to fulfil the national economic plan for the first half of this year and perfectly carrying out the tasks for the first year of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy of the Party.

Vice-Premier Yang Sung Ho said in a report that the first quarterly national economic plan for attaining the 12 major goals in the new year was successfully carried out by enhancing the offensive spirit in all fields and units in this decisive year of determining the victory in attaining the goals set forth at the Eighth Congress of the WPK.

He called upon all officials to work in an innovative way with the stand and attitude that they are fully responsible for their sectors, regions and units before the state, holding fast to the Party decisions as their lifeline, and thoroughly carry out the next quarterly plan.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The meeting called for thoroughly ensuring unity in the guidance and management of the economy, more firmly establishing strict discipline and order whereby all sectors unconditionally obey the decisions and instructions of the Cabinet and bringing about a radical turn in the ideological viewpoint, work style and manner of work of leading officials in the economic sector.
