Lunar New Year's Day celebrated in DPRK

The people across the country greeted lunar New Year's Day of 2024 full of great aspiration and confidence.

Many people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, with best wishes for the immortality of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Working people, service personnel, youth and schoolchildren visited the statues of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and portraits of their smiling images across the country, laid flower baskets, bouquets and flowers and paid tribute to them.

Colourful art performances were given across the country to rev up the atmosphere of lunar New Year's Day.

Schoolchildren played folk games in Pyongyang Municipality, Jagang, Kangwon and North Hamgyong provinces, Kaesong City and other places.

Public catering establishments across the country were crowded with many people. The Rungna People's Recreation Ground, the Amusement Park of the Kaeson Youth Park, the People's Open-air Ice Rink and other places were filled with the people's happy laughter.
