Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un guides defence science research work

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, guided the defence science research work of the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex and the detective electronic warfare research group on March 25-26.

Accompanying him were Pak Jong Chon and Jo Chun Ryong, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Pyong Chol, general advisor for the munitions policy of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Yong Hwan, president of the Academy of Defence Sciences, and other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee and defence science research institutes.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about various kinds of reconnaissance and suicide attack drones, newly developed and being produced by an institute and enterprises under the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex, and oversaw their performance test.

The test confirmed the innovative performance of a new-type strategic reconnaissance drone with the detective ability to track and monitor different strategic targets and enemy troops’ activities in the land and sea. And it fully demonstrated the striking capability of suicide drones to be used for various tactical attack missions.

Kim Jong Un made an important assessment of the military effectiveness and strategic value of the strategic reconnaissance drone with improving performance and of the suicide attack drones to which new artificial intelligence was applied.

Natural monument Ninety-Nine Curves of Chonsang Stream

The Ninety-Nine Curves of Chonsang Stream is a natural monument situated in Sampho-ri, Yonsa County, North Hamgyong Province.

It is located in the valley through which the Chonsang Stream, a tributary of the Yonmyon River rising from Kwanmo Peak, flows.

There are high mountains like Kwanmo Peak and Mt Tojong near the stream.

Factory produces tasty and nutritious products with regional raw material resources

New school year for 2025 begins

School-opening ceremonies took place at educational institutions across the DPRK on April 1 to mark the new school year for 2025.

On the morning of the school-opening day, schoolchildren full of happiness put on new uniforms and shoes and carried Sonamu-brand school bags to go to school.

Regional-industry products show held in Ryanggang Province

DPRK marathon runners return home

DPRK players returned home on April 1 after taking part in the 20th Asian Marathon Championships.

Han Il Ryong won the winner’s trophy and a gold medal in the men's marathon and Ri Kwang Ok came second in the women's marathon.

School-opening ceremony held at rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities

A school-opening ceremony took place at the Korean Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disabilities on April 1.

Present there were Minister of Public Health Jong Mu Rim, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled Jon Chol Hi, officials concerned, children with disabilities, nurses, teachers and doctors of the rehabilitation centre and parents of the children.

At the ceremony, Song Hyang Chun, director of the rehabilitation centre, made an address to be followed by speeches.

Russian president denounces confrontational line of West

Russian President Vladimir Putin decried the confrontational line of the West at the international forum on the North Pole held in Murmansk on March 27. 

He disclosed that many Western countries opted for the confrontational line against Russia and broke off scientific and educational and cultural contact and dialogue on protecting ecological environment in the Arctic. 

Regarding the Arctic as a bridgehead of possible conflict, NATO is practising the method of using armed forces by mobilizing the forces of Finland, Sweden and other countries, and the fact is arousing the serious concern of Russia, he pointed out.
