The 11th meeting of the DPRK-Russia Inter-governmental Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology was held in Pyongyang on November 19.

Present there were Yun Jong Ho, minister of External Economic Relations who is chairman of the DPRK side to the inter-governmental committee, officials concerned and members of the Russian government delegation led by Alexandr Kozlov, minister of Natural Resources and Ecology who is chairman of the Russian side to the inter-governmental committee, and Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of the protocol of the 10th meeting held last year and discussed in detail the provisions of multi-faceted bilateral cooperation in different fields, including power, agriculture, science and technology, education, public health and tourism. 

The art troupe of Korean schoolchildren in Japan visited the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang on November 19.

The members of the art troupe laid bouquets at the statues of the great leaders and paid tribute to them. 

An art troupe of Korean schoolchildren in Japan headed by Mun Pong Su, principal of Kyoto Korean Middle and High School, arrived in Pyongyang by air on November 19. 

The Russian government delegation led by Alexandr Kozlov, minister of Natural Resources and Ecology who is chairman of the Russian side to the DPRK-Russia Inter-governmental Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology, visited the Tower of the Juche Idea on November 19.

After being briefed on the grand monument telling the ideo-theoretical exploits of President Kim Il Sung who founded the immortal Juche idea to clearly show the road ahead for the era of independence, the visitors went up to the observation deck of the tower to enjoy a bird's-eye view of Pyongyang.

On the same day, they also toured the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum and the Jongbaek Church. 

The Russian government delegation led by Alexandr Kozlov, minister of Natural Resources and Ecology who is chairman of the Russian side to the DPRK-Russia Inter-governmental Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology, visited the Liberation Tower on November 19.

Present there were Yun Jong Ho, minister of External Economic Relations of the DPRK, and Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK.

The 16th Pyongyang Autumn International Trade Fair opened with due ceremony at the Central Youth Hall on November 19.

Presented to the fair on the theme of "For independence and friendship, common development and prosperity" are electric and electronic goods, machinery, building-materials, medicines, foodstuffs and other products with international competitiveness based on advanced science and technology, which were produced by more than 160 businesses and companies of different countries, including the DPRK and Russia.

During the fair, there will be an explanation session on economic exchange and cooperation.

The bell is located beside the Taedong Gate in Taedongmun-dong, Central District, Pyongyang.

It was originally hanging on the gatehouse of the Taedong Gate and it was removed to the northern general's terrace as the northern castle of the Walled City of Pyongyang was rebuilt in 1714. But a fire broke out in the northern general’s terrace and it was broken. The present bell was cast in 1726. It is 3.1 metres high, its mouth is 1.6 metres wide and it weighs 12 914kg. The materials of the bell are cast iron and copper.

The bell was rung to tell the hours and sound an alarm till the 1890s.

Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma of Russia, said on November 17 that to attack the interior of the Russian territory with US-made missiles will bring about grave results of the escalation of conflict.  

American newspaper The New York Times reported that the present US President Biden allowed Ukraine to strike the Russian territory with US-made tactical ballistic missiles. In connection with this, he said that if it is true, it will mean that the US will directly participate in the Ukrainian conflict.

He noted that Russia will take the severest countermeasures according to a threat to be created against the country. 

A Yemeni resistance force carried out drone attacks against Israel.

A spokesman for the resistance force on November 16 said that the drone attacks were made on major targets in Elat, a port city of Israel, and that such operations will continue until Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip of Palestine and Lebanon ceases.
