Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un guides defence science research work

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, guided the defence science research work of the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex and the detective electronic warfare research group on March 25-26.

Accompanying him were Pak Jong Chon and Jo Chun Ryong, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Pyong Chol, general advisor for the munitions policy of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Yong Hwan, president of the Academy of Defence Sciences, and other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee and defence science research institutes.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about various kinds of reconnaissance and suicide attack drones, newly developed and being produced by an institute and enterprises under the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex, and oversaw their performance test.

The test confirmed the innovative performance of a new-type strategic reconnaissance drone with the detective ability to track and monitor different strategic targets and enemy troops’ activities in the land and sea. And it fully demonstrated the striking capability of suicide drones to be used for various tactical attack missions.

Kim Jong Un made an important assessment of the military effectiveness and strategic value of the strategic reconnaissance drone with improving performance and of the suicide attack drones to which new artificial intelligence was applied.

WPK’s policies are science and victory

Kim Sung Bok, teacher of Toksong Primary School in Phyongsong City attached to Phyongsong Teachers Training College, has a 20-year-long career in education and was once selected as an instructor and announcer of a unit for her good looks and high level of speech when she was to graduate from university. However, she became an educator with the determination to devote her whole life to teaching the rising generations.

Sensitive to the new and with good imagination, she created new methods of teaching theoretically and in plain language with vivid historical materials and realistic contents and generalized the methods across the country. She always won the first place in the assessment of teaching qualifications in the municipality every year as she steadily improved her qualifications.

In recent years alone, she created several new teaching methods significant in making students become active learners and searchers, including the "teaching method of using multimedia to improve students’ practical skills " and thus won certificates of registration of new teaching methods, introduction of new teaching methods and invention of experimental apparatuses and teaching aids.

Finding out buds of students’ talent in time

Kim In Ok, teacher of Rungna Senior Middle School in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang, which is affiliated to Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, has an unusual special skill in finding the buds of students’ talents in good time and cultivating them.

Last year, too, she discovered the bud of a student’s aptitude for writing poems in a composition written by the student and developed it so that the latter could take the first place in the district’s composition contest.

Over ten students trained by her gave pleasure to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un by creating excellent works and several other students became winners of “Our Classroom” Literature Prize and Youth Literature Prize. Her high teaching ability and broad knowledge enabled her to win top and first prizes in several rounds of national teaching contest, and in 2022 alone 24 students trained by her entered central universities. 

Songga Senior Middle School, pride of Kangdong County

Songga Senior Middle School in Kangdong County in the suburbs of Pyongyang, has been transformed splendidly to become the pride of the county, to say nothing of its teachers, schoolchildren and their parents.

The school has a nearly 80-year history.

The school took its first step as Songga Primary School in Kangdong County. At that time, it had four classrooms, four teachers and 13 schoolchildren.

European countries urged to be concerned about peace, not war

Dmitri Peskov, the Russian president’s press secretary, censured European countries for turning a blind eye to regional peace at an interview with a reporter of Russia’s state-run TV and radio broadcasting service on March 23.

Demanding European countries be absolutely concerned about peace, he said that it is sophism for Europe to talk about war and about how to step up militarization at present.

Europe claims that NATO forces may be potentially deployed in the Ukrainian territory, instead of thinking about how to remove the root cause of conflict, he said, stressing that war cannot be stopped without eliminating the root cause of conflict revolving around Ukraine.

Iran rejects US’ proposal for nuclear negotiations

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi rejected the US’ proposal for negotiations on the nuclear issue on March 23.

If the US administration does not change its policy of pressure against Iran, negotiations with the US are impossible, he said, noting that it is based on historical experience that his country opposes negotiations with the US.

Meanwhile, Seyed Ali Khamenei, leader of Iran’s Islamic revolution, described the US’ proposal for negotiations as a deceptive farce, asserting that negotiations with the US administration would result in tightening the knot of sanctions and increasing pressure on Iran.

Graduates of Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans volunteer for military service

DPRK government economic delegation returns home

A DPRK government economic delegation led by Yun Jong Ho, minister of External Economic Relations who is chairman of the DPRK side to the DPRK-Russia Inter-governmental Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology, returned home on March 25 after visiting Russia.

It was greeted at Pyongyang International Airport by Ryu Un Hae, vice-minister of External Economic Relations, and Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK.

Sci-tech presentation and exhibition opened in DPRK

A sci-tech presentation and exhibition for improving the ecological environment of the capital city was opened in the DPRK with due ceremony at the Sci-Tech Complex on March 25.

The presentation and exhibition is aimed at arousing the public interest in the work to preserve and better the ecological environment of the capital city and providing a sci-tech guarantee, true to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea on radically innovating the urban management as required by an era of comprehensive development of socialism.

Present at the opening ceremony were Kim Kwang Su, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, officials concerned and officials and working people in the capital city.
