A grand short course of Korean Children's Union (KCU) instructors from schools across the country took place in Pyongyang from March 26 to 29 for the first time in the history of the DPRK.

Present there were Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ju Chang Il and Kim Jong Sun, department directors of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Sung Du, minister of Education, officials of the central, provincial, city and county committees of the youth league, officials in the sector related to the affairs with schoolchildren and KCU instructors from across the country.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made an opening address.

A story-telling platform of women's union officials and women, "Patriotism and women in Kangwon Province", was given at the provincial art theatre on March 27.

The performers impressively told about the ardent love and feelings of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who puts forward all the women and mothers of the country and leads them to glorify their worthwhile life in the struggle for comprehensive national rejuvenation.

The Communist Mother Honour Prize awarded to women of the country is the most valuable commendation given by the General Secretary, the performers said, adding that the sincere and devoted efforts of the mothers who have devoted themselves to the future of their beloved children and the powerful country for decades are shining beautifully under the respects of people as they hold the great father in high esteem.

Exhibitions of teaching preparations for the new school year took place at educational institutions at all levels in the DPRK.

Lecturers and researchers of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education perfected teaching programmes and plans of research type and presented them to the exhibition. The teaching programmes made for displaying the advantages of a new teaching administration system are of high value in putting the educational contents on a concrete, diverse and practical basis.

Pyongyang College of Cookery presented a lot of teaching programmes and lesson videos made in the orientation of increasing the rate of practice.

The remains of Sojin Fort, a mud castle in the period of the Imjin Patriotic War, were unearthed and ascertained in Sangam-ri, Kangnam County, Pyongyang.

A research group of the Pyongyang Municipal Agency for National Heritage Conservation and the Archaeological Institute of the Academy of Social Sciences deepened the survey and unearthing of historical remains.

In the course of it, the remains of Sojin Fort were found at the site about 1.2 km away northeast of the Sangam-ri seat.

DPRK players are proving successful at the 2025 Asian Wrestling Championship.

O Kyong Ryong, a wrestler of the DPRK, advanced to the final match on March 27 (local time) after beating her opponents in the women's 55kg category.

In the final, she beat a Chinese player 8-1 to take the first place.

DPRK player Choe Hyo Gyong came first in the women's 53kg category of the 2025 Asian Wrestling Championship.

She defeated her Kazakh opponent in the quarterfinals and a Mongolian player in the semifinals. She bagged a gold medal by beating a Japanese player 12-1 in the final match.

Meanwhile, Son Il Sim and Kim Ok Ju took the second place in the women's 57kg and 62kg categories respectively. 

Ryu Sun Ok, associate professor of Sariwon Teachers Training College with a 30-year teaching career, works as head of a department in charge of the teaching work of the college and concurrent teacher of the natural science department.

Last year, she displayed her high ability in planning the curriculum and teaching programmes for the revision of the education programme of the teachers training college sector, and the new teaching plan she wrote for the subject of primary-school natural science teaching method won first place at the instruction design contest for applying research-type teaching and study methods-2024 of the teachers training colleges.

In recent years, she aroused enthusiasm among teachers of her college for emulation to create new teaching methods so as to develop over 20 excellent teaching methods and generalize them throughout the country by means of videos of relevant demonstration lectures.

A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry at a press conference on March 26 rejected the report of a US intelligence service defining China as the worst threat. 

The US diffuses “China threat argument” by releasing a report replete with prejudice every year in a bid to maintain its hegemony by containing and pressurizing China, he said.  

He emphasized that his country opposes “Taiwan independence” and stands firm in its determination to safeguard its national sovereignty and territorial integrity. 

The Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps opened an underground missile base to the public.

On March 25, a media outlet reported that high-ranking military officials visited the base which was called a “missile town”, and introduced it as one of the hundreds of missile bases in all parts of the country.

Stored in the missile base are thousands of domestic missiles which are the same with those that had been used in retaliatory military operations against Israel in April and October last year, it said.
