Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, received a message of greeting from Felix Antoine Tshilombo Tshisekedi, president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, on December 11 2024.

In the message the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo extended the sincere congratulations on behalf of all the people of his country and on his own behalf to H.E. President Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the New Year 2025.

He expressed his will to further strengthen the good friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un received New Year cards from heads of state, political party leaders and personages of various circles of different countries on the occasion of the New Year 2025.
The New Year cards came from the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China who is president of the People’s Republic of China and his wife, the president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and presidents of Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Belarus.
Kim Jong Un also received New Year cards from the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the national secretary of the Socialist Workers’ Party of the United States of America, the director-general of the UN Office in Vienna and the president of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

A banquet was given at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang on December 31 2024 to mark the hope-filled New Year 2025.

Present there were labour innovators and persons of merit who were invited to the celebrations of the New Year after making great contributions to glorifying 2024 as a year of gigantic changes and leap forward, to be specially recorded in the history of the country, with their sweat and sincere efforts out of pure patriotic conscience.

An evening gala of youth and students took place at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang on December 31 2024 on the occasion of the New Year 2025.

The venue of the evening gala was filled with joy and optimism of young vanguard greeting the hope-filled New Year with the pride of having fully demonstrated the wisdom and stamina of the patriotic youth boundlessly loyal to the cause of the Workers’ Party of Korea in the gigantic advance of 2024.

As the song “Cheers of the People” resounded through the nocturnal sky above the square, the participants began their grand dancing party.

New houses have been built at the Jangsuwon Farm of the Pyongyang Municipal Rural Economy Committee.

Officials and builders in Samsok District built cosy modern houses by prioritizing the quality of construction and pushing ahead with the project in a three-dimensional way as they displayed the fighting spirit of devotedly implementing the policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

A ceremony for moving into new houses took place on the spot on December 31 2024.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Pang Ryon Hyang residing in neighbourhood unit No. 28 in Jaktong-ri, Poptong County, Kangwon Province, on her 100th birthday.

Pang, born into a poor peasant's family, had been subjected to maltreatment and contempt before Korea’s liberation. She came to enjoy a genuine life as master of the country only after national liberation.

During the Fatherland Liberation War, she took the lead in supporting the Korean People’s Army soldiers on the front as an official of the women's union. She dedicated herself to postwar reconstruction out of patriotism and worked hard before her retirement.

An open-air ice rink built in downtown Pyongyang started operation on December 31 2024 on the occasion of the hope-filled New Year 2025.

The winter mass sports service centre, which has all necessary service facilities including protective walls, skate lending and repair rooms and a soft-drink shop, was crowded with citizens from the first day of its operation.
