New houses have appeared at the Unjong Vegetable Farm and the Tuhung Vegetable Farm in Kanggye City of Jagang Province.

Present at the celebration ceremonies were Jon Yong Sop, secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and officials of Party and power organs and builders in the city of Kanggye and agricultural workers who were to move into new houses.

Paek Chun Nam, vice-chairman of the Jagang Provincial People's Committee, made a congratulatory address, and licences for the use of new houses were handed over.

Kim Chong, motivator at the blast furnace workshop of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, is a special-class honoured disabled solider who had been sentenced to death by the medical world due to paraplegia plus an obstinate disease ten years ago.

To everyone’s surprise, she left the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital with her lovely baby girl amid the blessings of many in March this year.

She is admired and loved by all the employees of the complex as she works with strong will to motivate them to boost iron and steel production.

A house in Jonu-dong of Moranbong District, Pyongyang, was enlivened with many visitors from the early morning on June 1.

The family of an official of the district people’s committee and neighbours visited the house to congratulate the son of Jang Kum Song, an honoured disabled soldier, on the occasion of International Children’s Day.

They gave the baby boy new clothes, toys and souvenirs and shared joy with Jang’s family.

Paegak Falls are located in the Chonbulsan-ri, Yonggwang County, South Hamgyong Province. 

They begin at the southern foot of Mt Chonbul and the area of the waterfall is made up of granite.

Around the falls, there are thick forests of oak, pine and Korea larch trees, high and rugged hills and a deep valley.

The Russian Foreign Ministry took a measure to permanently forbid 99 Canadian citizens to enter Russia in reaction to Canada’s hostile act against the country.

In a statement on July 1, the Foreign Ministry stated that Russia prohibits the entry into it of the Canadians who took part in the development and introduction of an anti-Russia policy by their government, adding this measure does not target ordinary citizens of Canada.

A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry criticized, through an SNS on July 1, the irresponsible approach of the Western countries which remained indifferent to the obstructive moves against the process of democratic elections of overseas Iranian citizens.

Recently some anti-Iranian figures appeared in places where the elections of the Iranian president were held in the UK and other Western countries and hindered voters’ participation in the elections while threatening and insulting them, he said.

However, Western governments which had clamoured for “defending democracy” took no measures against such acts of infringing the legitimate rights of Iranian citizens, he said, adding that all the countries concerned should explain the reason.

Participants in the African and Arabian regional internet seminar held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung sent a basket of flowers to the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang.

The flower basket was laid before the statues of the President and the Chairman on July 2.
