Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un guides defence science research work

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, guided the defence science research work of the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex and the detective electronic warfare research group on March 25-26.

Accompanying him were Pak Jong Chon and Jo Chun Ryong, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Pyong Chol, general advisor for the munitions policy of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Yong Hwan, president of the Academy of Defence Sciences, and other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee and defence science research institutes.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about various kinds of reconnaissance and suicide attack drones, newly developed and being produced by an institute and enterprises under the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex, and oversaw their performance test.

The test confirmed the innovative performance of a new-type strategic reconnaissance drone with the detective ability to track and monitor different strategic targets and enemy troops’ activities in the land and sea. And it fully demonstrated the striking capability of suicide drones to be used for various tactical attack missions.

Kim Jong Un made an important assessment of the military effectiveness and strategic value of the strategic reconnaissance drone with improving performance and of the suicide attack drones to which new artificial intelligence was applied.

Privileges enjoyed by families with many children

Women who give birth to many children and bring them up excellently are given prominence and great benefits in the DPRK.

Policies have long been in place in the country to provide prolific mothers with good living conditions.

According to an official of the Hwasong District People’s Committee in Pyongyang, dwelling houses are preferentially allocated to families with many children according to a state measure, and hundreds of such families moved into new flats on Rimhung Street which was completed last year.

Recently, The Pyongyang Times reporter Hwang Jong Ryol visited the home of Kim Yong Ok living in neighbourhood unit No. 14 of Hwawon-dong No. 1, Hwasong District, Pyongyang.

Kim Yong Ok said: “All kinds of blessings have come to my family since I gave birth to three children. The country provided us with a modern new flat free of charge and preferential treatment. Daily necessities are supplied for us on a regular basis and special subsidies are granted under the meticulous care of officials of our neighbourhood unit, dong and district people’s committee. Therefore, we lead a comfortable life free from the slightest inconvenience.”

Natural monument Ninety-Nine Curves of Chonsang Stream

The Ninety-Nine Curves of Chonsang Stream is a natural monument situated in Sampho-ri, Yonsa County, North Hamgyong Province.

It is located in the valley through which the Chonsang Stream, a tributary of the Yonmyon River rising from Kwanmo Peak, flows.

Factory produces tasty and nutritious products with regional raw material resources

New school year for 2025 begins

School-opening ceremonies took place at educational institutions across the DPRK on April 1 to mark the new school year for 2025.

On the morning of the school-opening day, schoolchildren full of happiness put on new uniforms and shoes and carried Sonamu-brand school bags to go to school.

Ceremonies were held at universities and colleges and all other schools across the country to start the new school year.
