Today is the 13th anniversary of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un's assumption of the supreme commandership of the armed forces of the DPRK (December 30 2011).

Over the past 10-odd years since then Kim Jong Un has ushered in a golden age of the strengthening of the Juche-type revolutionary armed forces with his outstanding leadership ability, lifting the DPRK firmly to the position of an invincible military power.

He further strengthened and developed the revolutionary armed forces of the country into a politically and ideologically strong army which is infinitely loyal to the ideology and leadership of the Party Central Committee.

Foreign organizations and personages and Koreans in China sent baskets of flowers to the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang on the occasion of the New Year 2025.

On the same day, Choe Ryong Ho, vice-rector of Pyongyang University of Science and Technology, laid a flower basket before the statues of the great leaders. 

Baskets of flowers were sent to the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang on the occasion of the New Year 2025 by organizations of overseas compatriots.

They included the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, the General Association of Koreans in China, the Central Association of Korean Nationals in Russia, the International Social Confederation of Koreans, the Standing Council of the Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan, the Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China, the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan, the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China, the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, the Association of Korean Women in China, the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Students in Japan, the Association of Korean Nationals in Dandong City of China and the General Association of Traders of Korean Nationality in Dandong City of China.

The flower baskets were laid at the statues of the great leaders on December 28. 

Remarkable successes have been achieved in the development of the country’s professional sports techniques and the mass sports this year.

DPRK sportspersons won at least 20 cups and 360 medals, including 210-odd gold medals, in international games and set 40-odd new national records in domestic events.

Mass sports activities were vigorously conducted across the country, making the whole country seethe with joy and optimism. 

The Hamhung Schoolchildren's Footwear Factory was inaugurated in South Hamgyong Province.

The factory, furnished with modern equipment, provides a material and technical foundation for producing and supplying various kinds of quality and smart footwear to the schoolchildren in the province.

Present at its inaugural ceremony were Wi Chol Su, secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and officials and employees of the factory.

Officials and workers in the salt industry of the DPRK make progress in putting the salt production on an intensive, mechanized and modern basis.

Kwangryangman, Kumsong, Nampho and other salt works have further raised salinity at reserve evaporating ponds and evaporating ponds, developed and introduced machines to suit the actual conditions and established an efficient water circulation system to guarantee increased production.

The salt-making machine repair plant installed a dust collector, further perfected the streamlined process in a technical way and produced high-performance water pumps.

North Hamgyong Province directs efforts to doing offshore farming on a large scale.

Officials and working people in the province have created well over a hundred hectares of cultivation area this year alone to provide a guarantee for increasing the production of seafood.

Those of the provincial fishery management bureau seeded kelp at newly-built farms and built their own bases for producing materials for culture in an effective way to consolidate the material and technical foundations. 

Hamhung Choe Hui Suk Teachers Training College has newly been built in South Hamgyong Province.

The university has multi-functional laboratories, classrooms, an e-library, gymnasium, dormitory and other necessary conditions and environments.

Present at the inauguration ceremony were Wi Chol Su, secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, builders and teachers and students of the college. 

A riding club has been built in South Phyongan Province.

The riding club with the necessary conditions and environments has been built in a scenic spot of the city of Phyongsong for the working people, youth and students in the province to build up their physical strength and enjoy cultural and emotional life.
