The people in Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province, also greeted an auspicious event as the inauguration ceremonies of modern regional-industry factories, which will substantially contribute to the improvement of regional people's material and cultural living, take place one after another all across the country.

The county in the northern tip of the DPRK is full of joy of the inhabitants, who will enjoy a new socialist civilization to the full while leading a beautiful life in the new era of rejuvenation when the capital and the provinces develop and change all together.

An inauguration ceremony of the regional-industry factories in the county took place on January 12.

Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a message of greeting from Tharman Shanmugaratnam, president of the Republic of Singapore, on December 23 2024.

In the message, the Singaporean President extended his best wishes to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and his family on the occasion of the new year.

He hoped that he and the DPRK leader would continue to dedicate themselves to humanity in any place in the new year.

Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a field survey of different sectors.

At the Ragwon General Machine Enterprise, a leading machine manufacturer of the country, the Premier toured the hydraulic component and heavy-machine building workshops, Ragwon Oxygen Separator Factory and elsewhere to give a pep talk to officials, workers and technicians who are out in a campaign for increased production and economy campaign in hearty response to the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

He underscored the need for the officials to play the initiative, creative and positive role in implementing the Party's policies, mindful of the importance of their duty to develop the machine-building industry of the country, and more dynamically organize and direct the work to raise the productivity and quality of machine products.

January 14 marks the 66th founding anniversary of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards, the Juche-oriented paramilitary force of the DPRK.

The 60-odd-year history of the WPRG is the course in which it has steadily developed into the revolutionary armed forces defending the revolutionary cause of Juche with arms and the annals during which it has won victory after victory in the confrontation with imperialism and the struggle for building a prosperous country.

President Kim Il Sung, pioneer of the revolutionary cause of Juche and founder of socialist Korea, set forth the original idea of building a paramilitary force with broad sections of revolutionary people together with the standing revolutionary armed forces in the early period of his revolutionary activities and established a brilliant tradition of the revolutionary paramilitary force building.

The Worker-Peasant Red Guards, the Juche-type paramilitary force of the DPRK, have now greeted the golden age of its development under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

In September 2023, the columns of the military parade of the paramilitary force of the country fully displayed the heroic spirit of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards, whose members were fully prepared to fight a decisive battle as a-match-for-a-hundred combatants if the time comes for it, while fulfilling their missions and duties on the two fronts of national defence and socialist construction full of pride, confidence and courage as defenders of the great powerful country.

It is a precious fruition of the energetic leadership of the respected General Secretary that the paramilitary force has been built up to cope with any combat situations by putting primary efforts into the political and ideological education of members of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards to get them ready to become combatants strong in ideas and faith and by intensifying their training to further increase their combat capabilities.

Decades have passed since the gunfire of war ceased on this land.

However, durable peace has not yet settled.

Due to the aggressor forces’ constant moves to trigger another war, the Korean peninsula has been recognized as one of the crucial hot spots.

True to the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the key industrial sectors in the DPRK have set higher production targets than last year and turned out in the struggle for increased production from the beginning of the new year.

On January 1, the first tappings in the new year started at large metallurgical bases.

Amid ever-growing production competition between two oxygen blast furnaces of blast furnace workshops Nos. 1 and 2, the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex increased production from the first day of the year, and the following day it produced well over a hundred tons of more molten iron by the Juche-based production method than the first day. Now it carries out its daily production plan without fail. 

More than 80 young men and women in South Phyongan Province have volunteered for the theatres of socialist construction.

Tens of young people in the cities of Kaechon and Tokchon and the counties of Pukchang and Mundok vowed to work at the youth shock brigades of coal mines and other young people in the counties of Sukchon, Songchon and Unsan and elsewhere volunteered for the raw materials bases.

A meeting for congratulating those who volunteered for the difficult and labour-consuming sectors took place in the city of Phyongsong on January 12.

Elaborate plans for successfully implementing the new regional development policy of the Workers' Party of Korea are being worked out in different parts of the DPRK true to the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

The non-permanent central committee for promoting the Regional Development 20×10 Policy set more advanced goals on the basis of the experience gained in the course of building the first entities of regional rejuvenation, and is now taking practical measures to build advanced health facilities, facilities for science, education and cultural activities and grain management facilities as well as regional-industry factories at the highest level.

Substantial organizational work is being conducted to thoroughly ensure functions, convenience and diversity from the designing stage, harmony with surrounding environment and economic profitability, effectiveness and prospect at the maximum.
