In the DPRK, mountains account for more than 80 percent of its territory.

For this reason, tending mountains well is consistently important in developing the economy and improving the people’s living standards.

New history of “gold and treasure mountains”

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made public his immortal classic work “Let the Entire Party, the Whole Army and All the People Conduct a Vigorous Forest Restoration Campaign to Cover the Mountains of the Country with Green Woods” on February 26 2015. Over the past decade, great successes have been made in afforestation in the DPRK.

True to the intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea which declared forest restoration as a war with nature, working people across the country turned out for forest planting and protection.

Units have worked out detailed long-term goals and phased plans and persistently carried them out.

The present acute situation, in which the US and the puppet ROK military gangsters are staging anti-DPRK war exercises more frantically than ever before, makes all the young people in the DPRK, who have grown up under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea, while realizing the preciousness of their country, burn their hearts with hatred for the enemies and the spirit of annihilating them.

More than 600 students of graduating class of senior middle schools in North Phyongan Province have offered to join the army for national defence.

Those students in Hadan-ri of the city of Sinuiju were the first to volunteer for military service at forefront border posts. 

More than 40 young men and women in Jagang Province have volunteered to work at major sectors for implementing the decisions of the Workers' Party of Korea.

A youth league official in Junggang County decided to work at the county raw materials base station together with his family, out of the mind to contribute to the implementation of the Party's regional development policy.

Youths in the city of Huichon vowed to work at the construction brigade, raw materials base and goat farm.

Fishery stations in South Phyongan Province set out on the fishing campaign for this year.

They concentrated efforts on the repair and maintenance of fishing boats, while conducting a socialist emulation drive among fleets and ships.

The Mundok Fishery Station repaired and maintained equipment of all the fishing boats, produced and supplied fishing nets and various kinds of transport containers and organized the study of science and technology to enhance the technical knowledge and skills of fishermen.

The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK decided to award the joint rotating pennants and citations to 167 units which distinguished themselves in carrying out their agricultural production plans for 2024.

The units include the Mangyongdae Vegetable Farm in Mangyongdae District, the Yongjin Farm in Kangnam County, the Ryonhwa Farm in Sukchon County, the Wonhwa Farm in Phyongwon County, the Namsang Farm in Pukchang County, the Jaegol Farm in Songchon County, the Namap Farm under the North Phyongan Provincial Rural Economy Committee, the Samjigang Farm in Jaeryong County, the Songhung Farm in Hamhung City and the Kwangdap Farm under the Kaesong Municipal Rural Economy Committee. 

Russian President Vladimir Putin called on officials of the Ministry of the Interior to unite for victory in a recent meeting with them.

Unity is one of important factors to achieve victory, he said, adding that it is needed to absolutely ensure and guarantee the strict observance of order, rules and laws and that any slight indiscipline should not be allowed in any case.

He stressed the need to subordinate every work they do to the one goal of victory.

Many students in the graduating class volunteered to join the Korean People's Army in response to the call of the Korean Children's Union instructor at Yonggo Senior Middle School in Sinhung County who decided to take arms to defend the country and the revolution.
