The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Mun Myon Gi, a war veteran living in neighbourhood unit No. 30 of Kisan-ri, Unpha County, on his 100th birthday.

The old man, who received such a dreamlike honour, expressed his gratitude to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who shows great loving care for war veterans, highly praising them as the precious revolutionary seniors who created the indomitable spirit of national defence and the heroes who laid the foundations of an independent powerful country.

Officials of the Unpha County Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and villagers shared joy with the family and relatives of the macrobian war veteran.

Seminars on the exploits of President Kim Il Sung took place in Germany, Romania, Belarus, Italy, Tajikistan and Serbia from April 4 to 15 on the occasion of his 113th birth anniversary.

Speeches were made at the seminars attended by personages of political parties, organizations and institutions and masses of those countries.

The chairman of the Supreme Council of the National Socialist Party (Romania) praised the President as the father of socialist Korea, founder of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, outstanding military strategist and prominent leader of the world socialist movement.

Youth and students held a meeting at the Central Youth Hall in Pyongyang on April 24 to follow the examples of the heroes of the revolutionary film "Star of Korea".

The “season of moving into new houses” has come round every year in the DPRK in recent years.

Songhwa, Hwasong, Rimhung, Jonwi and other streets and the residential district of Kyongru-dong and other apartment houses sprang up in succession in the capital city of Pyongyang.

In the new era of rural development, new rural houses have been built to form socialist modern villages across the country.

The inauguration ceremony of 10 000 flats at the third stage in the Hwasong area of Pyongyang took place with splendour on April 15, the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the greatest auspicious holiday of the Korean people. 

According to the capital city construction strategy adopted and set forth by the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the scientific and energetic guidance of the Central Committee of the great Workers’ Party of Korea, modern skyscrapers and high-rise apartment houses embodying an ideal harmony of architectural formative and artistic beauty and advanced civilization, and distinctive commercial and public catering facilities with a strong symbolic character have been built majestically as another new large architectural group in the Hwasong area, to greet the third auspicious event of inauguration.

Another modern urban quarter has been created to demonstrate the radical development of Juche-oriented architecture and the transformation of civilization and efflorescence after the emergence of Songhwa, Hwasong, Rimhung and Jonwi streets in just four years since the first blasting for the construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang resounded. This amazing reality is a brilliant fruition of the transparent outlook on the people and outstanding leadership of the great Comrade Kim Jong Un, who regards the people as his God and devotes his all to their well-being.

The international community is raising voice against Israel for being hell-bent on mass killing under the patronage and protection of the United States.

The 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council held on April 2 adopted a resolution to demand Israel that it prevent massacre in the Gaza Strip.

The resolution denounced Israel for deliberately hindering the supply of relief materials and intercepting the supply of vital necessities of civilians, including food, drinking water, electricity, fuel and mobile communication means, while using poverty as a means of war in Gaza and unreasonably rejecting humanitarian approach. It called on the UN General Assembly to establish a “just and independent international system” for investigating and punishing those who are responsible for the “heinous criminal acts” committed during the dispute.

The Russian Foreign Ministry on April 23 strongly protested to the Moscow-based Japanese ambassador in connection with the fact that the Japanese authorities are scheming to use the earnings from the illegally-frozen assets of Russia in assisting Ukraine. 

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that such behaviour of Japan constitutes an actual involvement in the crimes of the Ukrainian authorities and will inevitably incur resolute counteraction.  

It warned that the Japanese authorities will have to bear full responsibility for the future destruction of bilateral relations.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Mun Yon Ok, a woman centenarian living in neighbourhood unit No. 1 of Thabyang-ri, Kilju County, North Hamgyong Province, on her 100th birthday.

Her house was wrapped in a festive mood as officials of the Kilju County Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, her families and relatives and villagers came to congratulate her.

Born in the period of national distress, she was subject to all sorts of maltreatment and contempt. She worked sincerely at her post for decades for the benevolent WPK and the socialist motherland that provided her with a genuine life and dignity. 

A national meeting of members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK), who distinguished themselves in displaying noble traits, was held in Pyongyang on April 23-24.

Present there were Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the GFTUK Central Committee and GFTUK members from across the country who distinguished themselves in displaying noble traits.
