The delegation of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation led by Vladimir Zarudnitski, president of the academy, left Pyongyang for home on November 22.

They were seen off at Pyongyang International Airport by Sonu Jong Chan, vice-president of Kim Il Sung Military University, officers of the Korean People's Army, Alexei Bartusov, military attaché of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang, and members of its military attaché office.

Mikhail Alexandr Degtyarev, minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, and his party arrived in Pyongyang on November 22.

They were greeted at Pyongyang International Airport by O Kwang Hyok, vice-minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the DPRK, and Russian Ambassador Alexandr Matsegora and staff members of his embassy in Pyongyang.

Chonju Falls in Puyon-ri is located in a deep valley 14km away from Puyon-ri, Sinhung County, South Hamgyong Province.

The falls flow along the cliff consisting of two steps of granite.

They first cascade along the cliff with an incline of 80 degrees and then along the one with a gradient of 70 degrees.

Kim Saeng, Han Ho and Kim Jong Hui are known as three best calligraphers of Korea.

It is said that Kim Saeng (711-?), a representative calligrapher in the middle ages, began to learn how to write in his childhood and kept on writing with brush until he was over 80.

As he was proficient in various writing styles, he developed a reputation as the best calligrapher in his own lifetime and was highly praised by posterity and even by foreigners.

The 2023-2024 DPRK men’s and women’s Premier League that started in December last year was rounded off.

More than 530 goals and a hat-trick were made in the men’s 190-odd league matches.

The Ryomyong team, winner of the men’s event, is the youngest contingent among the participating teams.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a reply message from Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on November 15.

The message said:

Dear Comrade Kim Jong Un,

Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a reply message from Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on November 19.

Bashar Al-Assad in the message expressed deep thanks to Kim Jong Un for sending congratulations on the occasion of the Day of the Corrective Movement and appreciated the stand of the DPRK expressing support and solidarity with the Syrian people in the struggle to defend the territorial sovereignty, unification and independence of their country.

I affirm that I will continue to strive, together with you, to strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations between Syria and the DPRK in the interests of the fraternal peoples of the two countries and more stubbornly fight against the present blockade and sanctions, he noted. 

The credentials of the Swedish ambassador to the DPRK, sent to Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, by Carl XVI Gustaf, king of Sweden, have been accepted.

Upon authorization of the President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, Choe Ryong Hae, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, received the credentials from Lars Andreas Bengtsson, Swedish ambassador to the DPRK, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang on November 21.

Choe Ryong Hae had a talk with the ambassador in a friendly atmosphere.

The 2024 autumn commodity exhibition at the Pyongyang Underground Shop closed.

Presented to the exhibition were light industrial products, foodstuff and agricultural products produced by 200-odd units. The exhibition drew the interest of many visitors.

During the exhibition, employees of the production units across the country shared experience for settling sci-tech problems arising in improving the quality of consumer goods and expanding their varieties on the basis of consumer demand.
