Graduates of Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans have volunteered to join the Korean People's Army.

A meeting of those volunteers took place on March 25.

Present there were officials concerned and officials and students of the school and a war veteran. 

A DPRK government economic delegation led by Yun Jong Ho, minister of External Economic Relations who is chairman of the DPRK side to the DPRK-Russia Inter-governmental Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology, returned home on March 25 after visiting Russia.

It was greeted at Pyongyang International Airport by Ryu Un Hae, vice-minister of External Economic Relations, and Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK.

A sci-tech presentation and exhibition for improving the ecological environment of the capital city was opened in the DPRK with due ceremony at the Sci-Tech Complex on March 25.

The presentation and exhibition is aimed at arousing the public interest in the work to preserve and better the ecological environment of the capital city and providing a sci-tech guarantee, true to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea on radically innovating the urban management as required by an era of comprehensive development of socialism.

Present at the opening ceremony were Kim Kwang Su, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, officials concerned and officials and working people in the capital city.

The portable semiconductor laser plant irradiation device developed recently by a research group of the Physics Faculty of Kim Il Sung University is attracting the attention of officials and working people in the agricultural sector. It is simple in structure and convenient to handle.

It reportedly has a good effect on the growth of crops for the important role of light in growth and development of the crops and the characteristic features peculiar to laser light including coherence, monochromatic property and directivity.

The Hyangjong Farm of Paechon County applied such laser light treatment technology to all the processes of farming practice to increase the production of paddy rice per hectare by over 500 kg last year. 

An Chang Hyon, a teacher of Sohae Senior Middle School in Waudo District, Nampho, could become a teacher of an inner-city school just after graduating from a university 15 years ago, but he opted to go to the rural school in his home village.

He devoted his selfless efforts and passion to improving the educational level of the school and acquired the qualifications to teach not only physics, his major, but also natural science, mathematics and English of junior middle school.

He developed several new teaching methods which help students easily understand what they learn in lessons in combination with actual life. He made dozens of kinds of teaching aids and experimental apparatuses so that all the experiments incorporated in the physics course of senior middle school could be conducted, thus greatly contributing to turning the school into a model one in rural areas, which can carry out all demonstration experiments and experiments on what students learn in lessons.

Ko Ryong Thaek, teacher of Osang Senior Middle School in Yonggwang County, South Hamgyong Province, has the abilities to teach well four subjects including mathematics, computing and his major physics.

It was 23 years ago that he started his teaching career after graduating from the Physics Faculty of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education. His high skills and enthusiasm enabled him to possess the abilities to teach the subjects. And he set an example in putting the teaching contents of physics on a practical, comprehensive and modern footing and generalized it to relevant educational units across the country.

Over the past 20-odd years, he has created and introduced dozens of new teaching methods, including heuristic teaching methods that help develop students’ intelligence quickly while teaching the subjects in plain language, in an interesting way and theoretically, and developed various useful programs conducive to education.

Japan, a war criminal state, is stepping up the battle formation to launch a war for reinvasion.

On March 24, it officially inaugurated an "integrated operation command" comprehensively commanding the Ground, Maritime and Air "Self-Defense Forces" for the practical use of long-range missiles.
