In April 2019, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un had the first meeting and talks with Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

His first visit to Russia was a historic event which provided a cornerstone for the DPRK-Russia relations in the new era and marked a new turning point in developing the strategic and traditional relations of friendship.

The meeting and talks the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un held with President Putin demonstrated to the international community the will and stand of the two countries to develop the bilateral friendly relations more solidly and soundly, ensure global peace and security and actively push forward with the historic cause of building a just new world. The agreements reached at the talks between the top leaders of the two countries served as a clear landmark in strengthening the strategic cooperation for peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world and as a driving force for dynamically promoting the struggle of the peoples of the two countries for independence, peace and friendship.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea who ushered in a great golden age of construction to provide the people with happy living conditions, gave detailed guidance for building even a single structure on the highest level.

Newly-built feeder roads

One day in March 2022, the General Secretary visited the construction site of 10 000 flats nearing completion in the Songsin and Songhwa area.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Jon Won Je, a woman centenarian living in neighbourhood unit No. 69 of Sinbi-dong, Sinuiju, North Phyongan Province, on her 100th birthday.

The centenarian was deeply moved by the deep loving care the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un showed even for an ordinary old woman on her birthday, saying with deep emotion that the policy of the Workers' Party is the best in the world.

She had lived with the sorrow of a stateless nation before the liberation of Korea but enjoyed a happy life as the genuine master of the country liberated by President Kim Il Sung.

Coach proves his ability 

Ri Song Ho, who was selected as one of top ten coaches of the DPRK for 2024, is a coach of the Wolmido Football Team.

He spent his playing career at the Rimyongsu Sports Club and has worked as a coach at the Wolmido Football Team since 2002 after graduating from Korea University of Physical Education. 

The Central Botanical Garden has been successful in cultivating and breeding garden plants.

Recently, the researchers have completed the growing and breeding methods of more than 10 species of garden plants including rare gift plants presented to the peerlessly great leaders from different countries and newly registered them as national species, thus opening up a prospect for making landscaping diverse and more characteristic.

As the newly registered “purplish” red maple and “purple-leaf” smoke tree have distinctive leaf colours and shapes, they can be widely applied to landscaping of streets and villages.

The Phyongchon Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory produces hundreds of articles of highly-effective Koryo medicines of dozens of kinds.

Recently, it has developed more than ten articles of medicines.

In particular, various kinds of medicines for cold are popular with users for their high efficacy.

Dmitri Medvedev, vice-chairman of the Russian Security Council, recently urged Europe to take its hands off the Ukrainian crisis through SNS.

Referring to the fact that US officials said they would take their hands off the Ukrainian issue in case there is no progress in it, he stressed that Europe, too, should behave like that and then, Russia would put everything in order faster.

Meanwhile, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitri Peskov said at a press conference that he has never heard the European countries appealed for peace in Ukraine, and that they are calling for the future militarization of Europe and Ukraine.

A signature campaign against the tariff policy of the authorities is going on in the United States.

Economists worked out an anti-tariff declaration denouncing the tariff policy of the current administration and circulated it at the end of last week. More than 970 people signed it by the dawn of April 20.

Though the current administration argues that the tariff policy would help reverse the overall trade deficit of the country and shore up the manufacturing industry, it is based on impromptu and mistaken thought, the declaration said.
