Anniv of victorious battle of Stalingrad celebrated in RussiaFebruary 6, 2023
Celebratory events took place in Russia’s Volgograd on February 2 to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.
President Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument on Mamaev Hill and paid a silent tribute to the memory of victims.
Speaking at the celebratory concert which followed, he described Stalingrad as a symbol of invincibility and vitality of the Russian people.
He also visited an exhibition held at the open-air museum dedicated to national history Battle of Stalingrad and met with representatives of different patriotic youth and public organizations.
