A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry answered a journalist at the news conference on November 21 in connection with the ongoing international investigation into the disposal of radioactive-contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power station in Japan. 

He said that absolute safety should be ensured in the disposal of nuclear wastewater by maintaining the objective, fair and scientific principle in the international practical investigation for the disposal of radioactive-contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power station and applying strict nuclear safety standards.

In particular, Japan should not discharge the contaminated water into the sea in an arbitrary manner, but sincerely lend an ear to the anxiety of others and take responsible attitude, he insisted.
