Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced the frantic confrontational moves of the West to obliterate the country’s culture at the meeting with the students of Moscow Lomonosov State University on January 25. 

Referring to the fact that the Western countries are thinking of obliterating even the works of Tchaikovsky, he stressed that Russia would not “exclude” world classics. 

Russia’s goal is to defend its people and itself from long-standing threats created in its territory, he said, adding that it can never tolerate such a threat.  

He hoped that university students would bring great benefits to the whole society of Russia, the whole state, he noted.
