Natural monument－‘Talhaesan Fort’December 9, 2022
The “Talhaesan Fort” is a cliff situated in Saengyang-ri, Sinphyong County, North Hwanghae Province.
This natural monument was formed of quartzite in the upper Proterozoic era and is higher and longer than others in Korea.
Its main shape was formed about 1.1 billion years ago and it came to take on the present shape by weathering and erosion.
The cliff is 50-60 metres high and about 100 metres long.
The locals call the cliff “Talhaesan Fort” as it spreads like a high mountain fortress.
