The session of the DPRK Olympic Committee 2023 took place in Pyongyang on March 24.
It was attended by Ri Song Hak, vice-premier of the Cabinet, members of the Olympic Committee and officials of the sports and relevant sectors.
The meeting reviewed last year’s work of the DPRK Olympic Committee and discussed the orientation of its work for this year.
Kim Il Guk, chairman of the DPRK Olympic Committee and concurrently minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made a report, followed by speeches.
Speakers referred to their successes and relevant experiences of last year, including those in readjusting and reinforcing the force of the national team players and reserve players and making the technical guidance over the processes of instruction and training IT-based, scientific and modern at a high level true to the Party’s sports policy.
They pointed to the need to develop sports science and technology of the country, further consolidate the material and technical foundation of the sports sector and inspire the whole country with stronger enthusiasm for sports while continuing to put spurs to the effort to steadily increase the number of medals won in international competitions.
The meeting discussed practical matters related to raising professional sports techniques to higher levels, actively conducting mass sports activities and further developing sports education and scientific research and stressed a series of problems related to improving the anti-doping work.
