Children's football tournament closes
June 5, 2023The 8th National Children's Football Tournament that opened in May to mark the 77th anniversary of the Korean Children's Union came to a close.
Present there were Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league, players and other schoolchildren in Wonsan.
In the boys’ and girls’ finals held prior to the ceremony, the players displayed football techniques, playing tactics and team spirit they cultivated in ordinary time.
The boys’ team of Pyongyang Municipality and the girls’ team of Kangwon Province won the tournament, while South Phyongan Province’s boys and Pyongyang Municipality’s girls finished runners-up and North Hwanghae Province’s boys and girls came third.
Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a closing address.
