An event took place at Kim Il Sung Stadium on May 7 to commemorate World Athletics Kids’ Athletics Day.
It was attended by officials of the Athletics Association of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and coaches, instructors and students from the Amnokgang Sports Club and Rangnang District Extra-curricular Juvenile Sports School in Pyongyang.
Referring to the fact that many people’s and merited athletes, including Sin Kum Dan who set a new world record in track and field and marathon queen Jong Song Ok, have been produced in the track and field event in the past, the speaker said that the event would serve as an important occasion in promoting the development of athletics techniques.
There was an experience presentation on the basic technical education of young reserve athletes.
That day, the participants played a variety of sports and amusement games.
