Press statement of Pak Jong Chon, secretary of WPK Central Committee
April 3, 2022Pak Jong Chon, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, made public a press statement on Saturday, which said:
I open to public this press statement because it is absolutely necessary for our people and army to know about the south Korean military’s frenzy of anti-DPRK confrontation.
South Korean Minister of Defense So Uk let loose a string of dangerous remarks at a ceremony for the reorganization of the “army missile strategic command” on April 1.
There he bluffed that the south Korean army has a variety and lots of missiles whose firing range, accuracy and power have dramatically been improved. And as he cited a sign of missile launch by the DPRK, he said that the south Korean army has an ability and is ready to make a preemptive, precision strike at the origin of launch and command and support facilities.
He vowed to keep developing long-range, ultra-precision, high-performance and diverse ballistic missiles capable of overpowering the enemy in the future, openly revealing his intent of military confrontation with the DPRK, while calling it an enemy.
He must be a lunatic or idiot to speak of “preemptive strike” on a nuclear weapons state.
He is steeped in the mindset of confrontation.
Now the Korean peninsula is technically at war.
Everyone knows that any slight misjudgment and ill statement rattling the other side may lead to a dangerous conflict and an all-out war under the present situation where acute military tension persists.
The provocative remarks made by the south Korean Defense Minister against the DPRK under the present situation clearly show the extent of the anti-DPRK confrontational frenzy of the south Korean military.
Since he provoked us, talking about a preemptive strike, I will make one short warning on behalf of our army.
If the south Korean army takes such dangerous military actions as a preemptive strike against the DPRK, being guided by any misjudgment, our army will mercilessly direct all its military force into destroying major targets in Seoul and the south Korean army.
The south Korean military must not exacerbate the tension through reckless confrontational acts.
We know well that though they always tremble in fear and uneasiness, they swagger and make confrontational remarks in a bid to relieve its people of worries, but they had better not bluff any more.
