General Secretary Kim Jong Un receives reply message from Chinese counterpart

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, received a reply message from Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China, on October 13.

Xi, in the message, expressed his heartfelt thanks to General Secretary Kim Jong Un for having sent a message of warm and sincere greeting to him on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the PRC.

Saying that the two countries, the PRC and the DPRK, are friendly neighbours linked by the same mountains and rivers and their traditional friendship is getting more solid as the days go by, he noted that a serious and complicated change has taken place in the international and regional situation and that the importance of promoting the strategic communication between China and the DPRK and boosting unity and cooperation between them has further stood out.

He expressed readiness to make positive efforts to give impetus to making the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between China and the DPRK grow stronger along with the times together with Kim Jong Un under the new situation and make a greater contribution to providing the two countries and their peoples with greater happiness and defending peace and stability in the region and the rest of the world.

Xi said that he was delighted over the fact that the Korean people have steadily achieved fresh achievements in the economic development and improvement of the people's standard of living in recent years under the leadership of the WPK headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

He wished the fraternal Korean people new and greater success in accomplishing the cause of building socialism.
