The 13th Central Meeting of Mothers of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan took place in Tokyo, Japan, on May 19.

It was organized for the purpose of radically turning the movement of Korean women in Japan into a patriotic movement true to the important letter the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un sent to the participants in the 25th Congress of Chongryon and getting women’s union officials, activists and mothers of the new generation fully ready as the hardcore of the women’s union through the struggle for defending national education.

The conference held on the themes of “True mother’s love comes from national education” and “For rosy future of beloved children” brought together officials of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan (women’s union) and women’s union headquarters and other Korean women.

A congratulatory letter from the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea was introduced at the meeting.

The conference was presided over by Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee who doubles as chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan. 

The true value of national education and strong determination of Korean mothers in Japan to faithfully carry on national education will be fully demonstrated to the world through the conference, she noted. 

An appeal to all Korean women in Japan was adopted at the meeting.
