Organizations of Koreans in China held events to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the birth of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The General Association of Koreans in China, the Federation of Korean National Economic Workers in China, the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China, the Zhongnan Regional Association of the GAKC, the Jilin city branch of the Jilin  Regional Association of the GAKC, the family of Hwang Paek Ha, a China-resident Korean related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and the family of Hong Yong Sun laid baskets of flowers at the statue of President Kim Il Sung at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin and the portraits of the smiling President and Chairman and the artwork depicting the President and the Chairman at the DPRK embassy in Beijing and the DPRK mission in Shenyang.

The GAKC held a celebration meeting at its meeting hall on February 16.

The meeting was followed by an artistic performance in celebration of the Day of the Shining Star.

The GAKC and its affiliates watched a Korean documentary Developing Our Party into Ever-victorious Revolutionary Party, Part 6 of General Kim Jong Il, Peerless Patriot between February 14 to 16,  and a commemorative lecture was given under the sponsorship of the GAKC in Dandong on February 12.
