Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, inspected various units in Jungsan County, South Phyongan Province, to learn about the implementation of the major policies set forth at the plenary meetings of the WPK Central Committee.

Inspecting the Phungjong and Mubon farms, he said that officials should thoroughly grasp the overall farming in the relevant areas and take scientific and timely steps to properly guide and help the immediate farming as the Party and the state took measures in every way for successfully attaining the goal of grain production for this year.

Noting that effective cultivation of crops in the rainy season is very important in ensuring good farming of a year, he called for strictly observing the scientific and technological requirements and taking effective measures to prevent damage by downpour and flooding. And he urged the deputies to power organs to fulfil their responsibility and role in implementing the Party's agricultural policy.

At the Jungsan County Farm Machine Station, he stressed the importance of the mechanization of farming in implementing the Party's programme for the rural revolution and called for steadily raising the level of specialization in equipment management and production of farm machines and various accessories through effective dissemination of science and technology.

Going round the Jungsan County Foodstuff Factory and the parent tree nursery of the Jungsan County Forestry Management Station, he underscored the need to direct efforts to improving the quality of condiments with wheat as the main raw material so as to make a substantial contribution to the improvement of the people's living standards in the county and produce enough saplings needed for planting forests of economic value and wild fruits.

Learning about the work of the Jungsan County People's Committee, he discussed and took measures to intensify the role of power organs in ensuring the correct implementation of the people-oriented policies of the Party and the state and conduct in a methodological way the education for raising public awareness of law observance.
