Colours of the Korean People’s Army are the banners of victory and glory associated with the noble lives of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the founder and builders of the revolutionary armed forces, and pulsating with the faith and will of KPA service personnel to defend the revolutionary cause of Juche with arms under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the symbol of the heroic KPA.

In the process of implementing the Workers’ Party of Korea’s idea and line of building a strong army, many units of services and arms have been expanded and reorganized and charged with major operation and combat tasks according to the new situation and the strategic and tactical missions of all units have changed.

The colours of KPA units at all levels were revised to suit their strategic missions as the army has been developed and strengthened as the strongest revolutionary army in the world under the guidance of the Party.

The glorious colours fully displayed their dignity and honour in the military parade held in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Korean People’s Army.
