January 13, 2023General Secretary
After receiving the historic programme, we, scientists, are full of burning enthusiasm to accelerate the economic development with valuable sci-tech successes this year marking the 75th anniversary of the DPRK and the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
It is the firm decision of the WPK to make a fresh leap forward in the development of science and technology of the country in a short time by channelling efforts into it, usher in an era when the country prospers by means of science and bring about a revolutionary turn in socialist construction.
We will take the lead in the struggle to carry out the tasks set forth for this year.
Keeping in mind that the shortcut to economic growth and the way to a rapid upturn are science and technology, we will resolve all scientific and technical problems with painstaking research and passion, broad knowledge and creative wisdom of the collective.
We will pay primary attention to solving scientific and technical problems arising in normalizing production at factories and enterprises, while putting more efforts into enhancing cooperation between production units and scientific research institutions.
This year, too, we will continue to direct a great deal of energies to scientific research to resolve the problems of raw and other materials and equipment with our brains and technologies and the development of advanced science and technology conducive to establishing a high-tech industry of the country.
Cherishing in our hearts the intention of the Party that regards the improvement of the people’s living standards as the most important of all state affairs, we will positively support its politics of love for the people with science and technology.
And we will organize and conduct sci-tech activities in various forms and ways including sci-tech festival, symposium and presentation and technical innovation exhibition to promote technical exchanges and cooperation and generalize technologies of advanced units in time.
Our goals are ambitious and we have a lot of work to do.
We will plan and command all work well to make sure that scientists and technicians fully display their unbounded enthusiasm in the reality of struggle to carry out the WPK’s policy of attaching importance to science and technology and provide a shortcut to the development of independent economy.
