Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, visited Dalian City of the People’s Republic of China on May 7-8 2018 and met Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the PRC again.

At the talks held on May 7, the General Secretary expressed his thanks to Xi Jinping for making his precious time to come to faraway Dalian despite his busy political schedule, warmly greet him and carefully organize the work to provide him with the greatest convenience with all sincerity and devotion.

Xi said he was pleased that positive development has taken place in Sino-DPRK relations and the situation on the Korean peninsula since Kim Jong Un visited China for the first time in March that year and extended thanks again to him for personally coming to China to promote and tune up the understanding between the two parties and the two countries.

Kim Jong Un met and had a talk with Xi Jinping on the morning of May 8 again.

The historic meeting of the leaders of the two countries served as an important occasion in valuing and faithfully carrying forward the excellent tradition of the DPRK-China summit meetings leaders of the older generation of the two countries had held and showed fine examples and in advancing the DPRK-China friendship, the strategic option of the two parties and the two countries, more energetically in line with the requirements of the new era.

The DPRK-China friendship, which is based on the deep comradely friendship between the two leaders, is strengthened and developed as required by the new era thanks to the spirit agreed at their repeated meetings and talks and joint efforts of their peoples.

Today, the DPRK and China are going on a historic journey for achieving a fresh victory, holding aloft the banner of socialism.

Shortly ago, Xi Jinping was reelected as president of the PRC and senior state officials were newly elected at the First Session of the 14th National People’s Congress of China. It has enabled the CPC to fully realize its leadership over the overall state affairs and vigorously push ahead with the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Under the leadership of the CPC headed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, the Chinese people work hard to achieve the goal of comprehensively building a modernized socialist state.

Under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Un, the Korean people dynamically speed up the all-people grand march to open up a new era of the comprehensive national rejuvenation by thoroughly implementing the decisions of the sixth and seventh plenary meetings of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

In the future, too, the two parties and the two countries will continue to carry on and develop the DPRK-China friendship, the common aspiration and desire of the peoples of the two countries.
